About Your
Treatment

Treatment includes a health intake and skin analysis to determine any concerns and goals of the treatment. Commonly treated conditions for Cosmetic Acucouncture includes the signs of aging, acne, roscea, puffiness and scarring.

A combination of body and facial acupuncture is offered to balance the skin from the inside out and stimulate collagen production, followed by Red light Therapy during needling to further encourage collogen and elastin production.

Facial massage and Gua Sha will be offered to sculpt facial muscles, increase circulation, drain lymph nodes, reduce puffiness and relax facial tension.
Finally, products from Green People organic cosmetics and if suitable a facemask for your skin type will be applied following needling once skin is prepped for ultimate absorption.

Cosmetic acupuncture has accumulative benefits, which means; the more you do it the better the results! Expect to Glow from your first treatment but actual transformative results will be noticed after 4 to 6 treatments. *please be aware this is not a traditional facial and does not include steaming or extractions.

Tailored Acupuncture Experience

Once a diagnosis is reached, you may be asked to remove clothing to access specific acupuncture points chosen for your needs.

Settle onto a bed, covered with blankets and provided with pillows for your comfort. Fine and sterile needles will be skillfully inserted to stimulate Qi, often described as a pulling or electric sensation.

Your practitioner ensures open communication throughout, making sure you're at ease during the process.

Needles in Harmony

The needles remain in place for around 20-30 minutes, allowing you to bask in the therapeutic effects. It's an opportunity to enjoy the acupuncture glow, a sense of utter bliss, and the results from your first treatment.

Post-Needle Unveiling

As the needles are gently removed, Sophie offers a treatment plan and dietary advice tailored to your goals. Acupuncture is cumulative, and Sophie will guide you on the number of sessions needed for optimal results.

Acupuncture works by stimulating your body's own healing process. Tiny, sterile needles stimulate specific points of the body that have a high level of nerve endings which triggers physiological and chemical changes in the body. Chinese Medicine believes the body has channels or pathways, interestingly these channels are now recognised to map the fascia of the body. Inside these channels flows our energy, our lifeforce, our Qi. This energy can become blocked or stagnant causing imbalance which leads to illness and disease. Acupuncture re-establishes the flow of energy and rebalances the body leading to healing.

This depends on the person and the state of their health when they arrive in the clinic. Acute conditions can usually be resolved in a couple of sessions and something more chronic may take longer. Your practitioner will speak to you frankly about this in the first session and create a unique treatment plan for you. Usually 6 to 8 sessions are recommended but a review will be taken after 4 to see if you are feeling the benefits or a different approach should be taken.

Acupuncture shouldn't hurt. The tiny sterile needles are finer than a hair. This does not mean you should not feel anything. Your practitioner is searching for the Qi when the needle is inserted and will communicate with you throughout. You can expect to feel a pulling, a pressure, a tingle, a warmth, a dull ache, a heaviness; everyone feels something a little different.

Acupuncture can be used to treat pretty much everything! This ancient medicine is one of the oldest in the world and has withstood the passage of time. There must be a pretty good reason for this! In the clinic we have seen; digestive issues, mental health, pain, headaches, sleep, allergies and a myriad of female related issues including PCOS, fibroids, endometriosis, dysmenorrhoea and so on.

Generally you will be good to go for any treatment, however it is recommended:
To avoid coffee for a few hours before your treatment.
Bring water if you think you will need it
Have something to eat
Wear comfortable loose clothing

Yes you can! However there are certain points that should not be used during the pregnancy. Acupuncture is a wonderful way to support your pregnancy and prepare for birth. Acupuncture can be wonderful at treating morning sickness, fatigue and supporting the body during this time. Acupuncture has also been shown to assist with breach and induction at the end.
